A suitable solution for every seating problem
Due to our many years of experience with a wide variety of seating problems, the range of options and special adjustments for the armchairs in the care collection is now so extensive that we can respond appropriately to almost any requirement. We also offer a range of useful accessories that make your Fitform armchair even more comfortable.
Exactly made to measure
In addition to the standard adjustment dimensions of the armchairs in the Fitform care collection, numerous other dimensions are also possible. The seat depth is adjustable in 6 levels as standard: 43 - 45 - 47 - 49 - 51 - 53 cm. Smaller and even larger seat depths are also possible. The seat height can be adjusted between 40 and 60 cm. A modified seat cushion is installed to achieve seat heights of 36 cm, 37 cm, 38 cm and 39 cm. The height of the armrests can be adjusted between 16 and 29 cm. There is a special construction for smaller and higher armrest heights. The armchairs in the Fitform care collection are available in different seat widths (depending on the model) from 45 cm to even 87 cm. The larger seat widths are suitable for a body weight of up to 225 kg and are supplied as standard with a so-called "heavy duty leg support". The backrest can also be made lower or higher.
Information about different battery systems for fitForm chair models
Battery system: no cables in the room This is practical: an electric armchair with no cables on the floor. This is made possible by a rechargeable battery. This also reduces the risk of tripping over the cord. An optional battery can be ordered for most armchairs. With a charged battery, you can drive several days in advance, depending on usage. When the battery is almost empty, you will first hear a beep. The lower the battery, the longer the signal will last. It is very important that the battery is charged immediately. This can be done with the help of the special loading unit. Battery backup separate cabinet A battery backup box can be purchased separately with the battery. If the power fails, the armchair can be adjusted for a while. In addition to your armchair, a lamp or other device can also be connected to the cabinet.

3. Connect the plug of the separately supplied charging cable to the block and then connect your armchair to the power supply (socket). Now the battery system is charged while the armchair can be used as usual. 4. After a night of charging (or up to 36 hours if the batteries are deeply discharged), disconnect the charging cable Important to consider 1. With this system, the armchair does not automatically stop in the neutral position when it changes from the stand-up position to the relaxed position. 2. With this system, the legrest of your armchair is automatically retracted when the armchair is in the stand-up position (at a height of about 5 cm). If the armchair is higher than 5 cm in the standing up position, the legrest can no longer be extended.

Battery system 2 (lithium battery)The importance of timely loading While charging is always possible with this system (you don't have to wait until it is almost empty), it is recommended that the battery be charged overnight every 2 weeks with normal use. The system does not emit a signal tone, but the armchair can no longer be operated as soon as the battery is completely empty. Loading method 1. Find the connector for the charging cable. This is a round plug (see photo) and can - depending on the type of armchair - be found in the following positions: a. behind the zipper on the back of the backrest b. on the underside of the armrest 2. Connect the plug of the separately supplied charging cable (with floor transformer) to the plug in the armchair and then to the power supply (socket). Now the battery system is charged while the armchair can be used as usual.3. The battery system is charged after approx. 6 hours. 4. You can still connect the charging cable to the mains. The battery system then serves as a "backup", if the power supply in your home installation is interrupted. Important to consider 1. With this system, the armchair does not automatically stop in the neutral position when it changes from the stand-up position to the relaxed position. 2. With this system, the legrest of your armchair is automatically retracted when the armchair is in the stand-up position (at a height of about 5 cm). If the armchair is higher than approx. 5 cm in the standing up position, the legrest can no longer be extended.
Battery system 3 (lithium battery)The importance of timely loading With this system charging is always possible, but a beep sounds when the battery is almost empty. After the beep you have to charge the system for about 6 hours. Loading method 1. Find the connector for the charging cable. This is a rectangular connector (see photo) that is behind the zipper on the back of the backrest. 2. Connect the plug of the separately supplied charging cable to the plug in the armchair and then to the power supply (socket). Now the battery system is charged while the armchair can be used as usual. 3. The battery system is charged after approx. 6 hours. 4. You can still connect the charging cable to the mains. The battery system then serves as a "backup" if the power supply in your home installation is interrupted. Important to consider 1. With this system, the armchair automatically stops in the neutral position when it changes from the stand-up position to the relaxed position.
Adjustable kyphosis backrest
The middle part of the backrest (position of the spine) is made with softer foams. People with kyphosis (curvature of the spine) can sit much more comfortably. The spine can sink in deeper. In addition to the top swing headrest, this backrest has a second kink point. In this way, the backrest can be optimally adapted to the back. Widened armrests In order to optimize body stability and arm support, the padded armrests can be supplied widened both inwards and outwards.
The footrest of a properly adequate Fitform armchair is long enough to fully support the lower legs. It ends before the heel. In certain cases, however, additional heel / foot support is desired. For this we offer the option of an additionally extended footrest. When the footrest is extended, an approx. 8 cm extension extends automatically. It is spring-loaded so that the legs / feet are not overstretched.
These armrests have been specially developed for people with one-sided paralysis. A common problem in people with hemiplegia is pain in the shoulder, forearm, or hand. The individual structure of a hermaphroditic armrest provides optimal support and pain relief. The armrest guide consists of a basic plastic shell and various forms of support. Depending on the individual requirements, there are 3 different shapes to choose from. The hemiplegic armrest is mounted on the seat of the chair so that it follows a tilt adjustment of the chair.
Hemiplegic armrest (rotatable) [left or right] Specially developed for people with half-sided laminaing, the hemiplegic arm support comes from the company B&S from Hoorn / NL. It is mounted on the seat so that it is carried along in the tilt adjustment.
Foldable side panel on the right or left side, foldable side panel on the right or left side (armrest)
With the help of the foldable, swiveling side wall, a wheelchair user can make a simple transfer. The folding system can be mounted on one or both sides with the models 560/561/570/571 and 574. If manual operation is too difficult, an electrically folding side panel can be used. The control then takes place via a special hand control box, whereby the side wall is slowly raised by a motor. Not just for wheelchair users.
The entire side tensioning part folds up in order to be able to carry out an optimal wheelchair transfer. When ordering, specify left, right or both sides (sitting in the armchair). For technical reasons it is unfortunately not possible to manufacture a Fitform Vario armchair that has a hinged side panel on both sides and is also equipped with castors.
If the known manually foldable side part is too difficult for the person to handle, it can optionally be supplied in an electrically controlled version. This is controlled with an additional hand control on the opposite side. The side panel slowly folds backwards to enable optimal wheelchair transfer. When ordering, please specify the side on which the hinged side panel is to be installed: right, left or both sides. (Specification sitting in the armchair!) In combination with a roller system or mobility kit, a double-sided version cannot be produced. A fold-down side part cannot be combined with armrests widened inwards or outwards, with a swivel part and with a seat depth> 53 cm. There can also be no hemiplegic armrest or a hemiplegic armrest on the same side.
Smart operation combines personal seating comfort with easy operation of the armchair. There are four pre-programmed "user profiles". These ensure that the chair movements are carried out safely, depending on what the user wants and needs. The profiles differ in the relaxation / resting movement (far or less far back) and in the standing up movement (slightly or completely raised). The special smart hand control is easy to use due to the limited number of buttons. This also enables a user with a reduced cognitive ability to easily operate the chair. It is possible to lock the armchair for additional security.
The advantage of smart operation Smart operation offers a combination of personal seating comfort, Ease of use and security. It is ideal for people who like or need their preprogrammed favorite movements in combination with a simple hand control. This is what smart operation offers: • Four different "user-defined" movement options tailored to the user's wishes and needs.
•The movement options are simply preset and can be changed at any time. This makes it possible to react optimally and easily to changing requirements.
• A user-friendly hand control.
•A lock function. Via the hand control. An armchair with smart controls has a manual control box with only three buttons and is therefore easy for the user to operate:
• Above left: button for the stand-up movement
• Above right: button for the relaxation and rest movement
•Below: one of the buttons for locking and unlocking the armchair
Move easily and safely as you wish
Smart Operation offers four different "user-defined" movement options that are tailored to the needs and desires of the user. We call these user profiles. The differentiation within these user profiles is determined by how far the chair tilts back and how high the user is lifted out of the chair in the standing up position. The armchair "remembers" this so that the user is not disturbed by unexpected movements. The four user profiles are explained below.
Who is the SMART operation suitable for?
The different user profiles specifically address the different needs and wishes of different types of users. We outline some examples below:
Profile A: Suitable for people who like to relax in an armchair or take a nap during the day. They also need a lot of support when getting up .
Profile B: suitable for people who do not like to lean back when resting. They also need a lot of support when getting up.
Profile C: among other things suitable for people who like to relax in an armchair or take a nap during the day. It is no longer possible to stand up independently, but with sufficient support, your own muscle strength can be used as often as possible.
Profile D: among other things suitable for people who do not want to lean back too far. It is no longer possible to stand up independently, but with sufficient support, your own muscle strength can be used as often as possible. Set the armchair in motion. If the user is sitting in the chair and would like to change their position, this can be done by pressing the button on the top right. With this button the legrest is extended, the legs are raised and the user comes into the relaxation position. Press this button until the desired position is reached. How far the armchair moves back depends on the selected user profile.
APPR seating system anti-decubitus & Positioning cushions
"You sit in the pillow - not on the pillow."
APPR steht für Air Positioning and Pressure Relief.
